From grand royal occasions, to the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, to Poets’ Corner, it’s the church where the tributaries of our history come together. It’s in this church that William the Conqueror was crowned on Christmas Day 1066 and it was here, between the graves of Sir Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, that the ashes of the man who changed our view of the universe, Professor Stephen Hawking, were interred in 2018.
