Tolkien’s Cotswolds

Join us on this stunning walk through charming villages of the Cotswolds and get to know some of the places that Inspired Tolkien.

We will be walking from Kingham to Moreton via Oddington and Stow on the Wold.

Highlights along the way include St. Nicholas Church. with it’s 14th century Doom wall painting and the village of Stow on the Wold the highest of the Cotswolds villages. We will have our lunchbreak here and See St Edwards church with its ‘Tolkienesque’ North Door flanked by ancient yew trees and learn about the village and the Cotswold’s history.

The walk ends at Moreton-in Marsh . Did you know that the Bell Inn was the inspiration for the ‘Prancing Pony’, Middle Earth’s most famous pub in ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ?

Terrain: Hilly at some parts but mostly an easy walk
