From a Medieval Cathedral to a Neolithic Temple  2 Days (1 night )

Join us on this lovely 2 day hike, walk part of the Great Stone’s Way  and discover Salisbury and Stonehenge sustainably !

About this Event

Day 1 : Travel by train to Salisbury , arrival and 7 mile hike around the city, through the Meadows and up  a hill that offers stunning views of Salisbury. We will visit a tiny village and a church where on of the main suspects in the probable murder of the princes in the tower is buried. The day ends with a guided tour of Salisbury Cathedral where one of the surviving copies of Magna Carta can be seen.

Day 2 :  We will be leaving Salisbury at 8 am , and start a 10 mile hike to the world famous megalith, Stonehenge. We will be walking  the last stretch of the Great Stone’s Way in reverse through beautiful rolling countryside and farmland via Old Sarum hill fort, visit another little church a hidden gem in Wiltshire and end the day with a guided walk around Stonehenge. Return to Salisbury by bus where we board our train back to London.

For the very fit groups a longer option (16 miles )is available during the longer days throughout the summer to Amesbury.

Pre-booking is essential 

The tour is lead by a Blue Badge Tourist Guide, North Downs Way Ambassador HML trainee who is qualified in wilderness first aid.

What to bring: hiking shoes, snacks and water, camera. Dress for the weather !

You can choose to meet us in Salisbury at the train station at 09.45 or if you are coming by train at 08.00 at Waterloo station in London.
